Equipment common for Cavern/Intro to Cave and Cave Courses
Air Delivery System
- two independent high-end first and second stage regulators, primary and backup, din type
- small face (1 1/2" - 2" diameter) submersible pressure gauge (SPG)
- 7´ lp hose for primary regulator
- 22"-24" lp hose for backup regulator
- 21"-24" hp hose for the SPG
- two stainless steel bolt snaps, 3/8" size, one for primary regulator, one for the SPG
- regulator necklace for backup regulator
Buoyancy System
- backplate/harness
- wing, 55lb lift recommended
Essentials
- two masks, primary and backup mask (frameless), small harness pocket for backup mask
- two safety reels with a minimum of 50 m / 150 feet of cave line
- primary reel with a minimum of 100 m / 350 feet of cave line
- fins, Power/Jet Fin-style, spring fin straps or backup fin strap
- primary cutting device - knife, 3" blade, sheath capable to be mounted on 2" webbing
- secondary cutting device - z-knife or surgical shears, vertical shoulder mount sheath
- contoured wrist slate with three multilevel slates
Lights
- primary light, canister-type, minimum four hours burn time, Goodman handle
- two backup lights, minimum four hours burn time each
- three stainless steel bolt snaps, 3/8" size, two for backup lights, one for the primary
Information System
- primary computer/bottom timer
- backup computer/bottom timer: digital bottom timer or any computer that can be put into the gauge mode
Exposure Protection
- exposure suit adequate for diving environment
Gas
- double cylinders with 300 bar (recommended) din valves/manifold, volume appropriate for planned dive and student gas consumption
Miscellaneous
- calculator
- dive tables
- save-a-dive kit (tools, O2-compatible o-rings & lubricant, ~10-20´ of line to attach bolt snaps, etc)
- gas analysis tape or duct tape and a permanent marker for gas labeling

Understanding the reasons behind the equipment selection is part of your training. Please consult with your instructor prior to making any purchases.
Exceptions
Cavern Diver course can be taken using only two backup lights (no primary light), recreational style buoyancy compensator, single cylinder and single regulator with two second stages with primary second stage configured with 7´ hose.
Introduction to Cave course can be taken using single cylinder with 300 bar (recommended) din H-valve and recreational style buoyancy compensator.
